Statement of Faith Generally

This Statement of Faith outlines the core beliefs and practices of The Highlands Church. While not exhaustive, it reflects the foundation of our doctrine. The Bible, as described in Section 2.02, is the final and complete authority for all we believe and do.

BELONG

We believe church is more than a place you attend—it’s a family you belong to. At The Highlands, you’ll find a community grounded in God’s Word, committed to growing in faith together, and walking with one another through every season of life. Whether you’re new to church or have been following Jesus for years, you have a place here. You’re seen, valued, and invited to be part of what God is doing in and through this church family.

MEND

We believe God meets us in our brokenness and begins the healing work only He can do. At The Highlands, we create space for people to be honest about their struggles and experience restoration through God’s love, truth, and grace. Whether you’re healing from past hurt, navigating a difficult season, or simply seeking peace, you’re not alone. This is a place where lives are being renewed and hearts are being made whole.

SERVE

We believe every believer is called to serve—to love others, use their gifts, and be the hands and feet of Jesus. At The Highlands, serving isn’t just something we do; it’s part of who we are. Whether it's within the church, in our community, or beyond, we serve with purpose, joy, and humility—always pointing back to Christ. There's a place for you to make a difference.

The Holy Scriptures

The written words of the Holy Scriptures that constitute the Holy Bible are the only writings containing the words of God Himself. The Scriptures are divinely inspired and authoritative; to disbelieve or disobey the Scriptures is to disbelieve or disobey God Himself. In their original manuscripts, the Scriptures are truthful and inerrant, not affirming anything contrary to fact. The Scriptures are clearly understandable by all persons who will read them with a willingness to follow them, seeking proper understanding from the Lord. They contain all of the words that God intended to be known for salvation. The Scriptures are profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.
